Hi. I’m not sure when, but sometime maybe last year, you changed the cap on the RTD bottles. They are now secured by difficult to remove plastic. You now have to be extremely careful when opening it. I have spilled the drink on my shirt so many times now because of this annoying cap. You really need to change back to the old caps or get something that is not going to explode when you open it. Thanks for your consideration.
Sorry to hear that the new caps are posing a challenge!
Our new Ready To Drink bottle design has the lids attached to adhere to new EU regulations. As of July 2024, plastic caps on all beverage bottles of 3 liters or less must remain attached to the bottle after opening.
Being a global company with our Ready To Drink produced in the EU, we’ve had to make this change and have already started our new production with the new attached caps.
Reducing packaging waste is crucial for us. By securing lids to bottles, you are more likely to recycle the entire unit properly, benefiting the environment.
That said, I’ve passed along this feedback, in case it’s something we can reassess!
Haha. The EU usually has good ideas, but this is a hard fail. Maybe it’s ok with full liquid caps, but the slop of huel rtd is not great since it sticks to the cap.
I hear you! Evaluating if there’s any wiggle room for this for the US specifically is something we’re working on!
We have the same complaint about the new EU caps — they result in RTD puddles all over our shirts
However, we just got back from a trip to the EU and realized that all bottled drinks there now have this style of cap. One of them actually had a very helpful illustration where you can bend the cap back & down a lot, like 190-200 degrees past its original position, at which point it’ll “stick” in that position.
That helps with the Huel spillage situation somewhat, but it’s still quite annoying compared to being able to take the cap off completely. Huel RTD is thick enough that some amount is bound to stay in the cap and leak onto your shirt
But if you haven’t tried that technique, it might help a little bit…
