I purchased a bag of Huel Black coffee carmel. I was not aware of such a hugh caffeine content per each 2 scoops. The caffeine amount should really be posted on the website, and not just on the bag once you receive it. Anyways I cannot continue to ingest 2 scoops of the coffee carmel because its caffeine content is too high to mix with a medication I am on. I don’t want to have to throw away the whole bag. Has anyone out there tried mixing one scoop of coffee carmel with a different flavor? I tried mixing chocolate and vanilla at the end of a bag once but it was gross. I have eaten the coffee carmel bars with 200 kcal, and do not feel the effects of any caffeine. I like the way the coffee caramel flavor tastes. I am hoping if I cut the caffeine dose by half I will feel better when taking my meds.
I have mixed chocolate and vanilla previously and it was ok. Chocolate is what I would try first with coffee caramel as the chocolate by itself is preferable to me over vanilla. And a caramel mocha Huel does sound pretty delicious.
65 mg per serving is high? Do you have a caffeine sensitivity?
I am not sensitive naturally, only while taking a certain medication. It makes my heart race.
I understand. In that case, I would recommend refraining from this flavor until your usage of this medication subsides (if it’s only temporary). In the past, drinking lots of water has helped me flush out caffeinated beverages I’ve unintentionally over-consumed.
Hi there! I am so sorry for the confusion regarding the caffeine in Huel Black Edition Coffee Caramel. The caffeine is listed in the “Any Questions We Haven’t Answered?” section toward the bottom of the Huel Black Edition product page as well as in the “Nutritional Information” section under the “Vitamins and Minerals” tab at the top for each flavor. However, I will definitely pass along that we should post this more more places so that it is sure to be seen.
Additionally, I agree with David, and also be sure to discuss this with your medical provider prior to consuming if it interacts with your medications or if you have a sensitivity.
I also just messaged you about this!
I mix coffee caramel with chocolate, 2:1 (2 parts
CC to 1 part chocolate) among some other ingredients and it tastes pretty good, to me. Try adding any or all of the things I do. Experiment with different combinations to find what suits your taste buds best.
Here’s the things I add:
Coconut Milk
Almond Milk
Raw Honey
Oatmeal
Chia Seeds
Nut Butter - almond, peanut, cashew, walnut, etc.
I make my own using a magic bullet. If you have a food processor it’s easy. Video
Fresh carrot juice (you’ll be surprised)
Broccoli & Spinach - for extra vitamins, not taste.
Bananas!! My favorite.
Frozen fruit of your choice - blueberries, strawberries, etc.
Canned pineapple
or try a scoop of your fav ice cream.
Point being, get creative and experiment. You might stumble onto something fantastic! Keep us posted.
Oh, and welcome to the forum!!
