Yellow Coconut Curry (Original Flavor)

I was eating 2 meals Huel meals per day and huel bars in between, consistently from May 2022 to August 2025. Everything from the shakes to the packets.

I tried every single recipe/item and stayed consistent with each of them for nearly a year before eliminating less desirable items.

Eventually I found my favorite items based on flavor, texture, nutrition, digestion and overall energy levels. These all contributed to me knowing that I can stay consistent over longer period of times without getting bored.

Over the past year, my favorite recipes started changing or became discontinued. It eventually kicked the bucket for me when Yellow Coconut Curry was changed (WITHOUT WARNING).

Everyone has their preferences, just imagine if your favorite, go-to item’s ingredients and recipe was changed drastically and without notice.

Anyway - I would have paid an added premium to keep that item arriving monthly. Why don’t you invite frequent buyers of specific items to take a survey before you make a change or discontinue?

Hey there!

So sorry to hear that you’re not a fan of the new Yellow Coconut Curry recipe!

We do our best to give advance notice of changes. We sent an email update to subscribers in April, May, and June 2025 (attached below). We also posted the update on Reddit and the Huel Forum in April.

If you have any ideas as to how we might have communicated this change better, please let us know, as this is something we’re working on!!

If you could also reach out to support@huel.com with the batch details on your product, that would be much appreciated, as this helps us keep track of feedback related to the new recipe! They can also help you with a return or exchange as needed.

I’ll pass along the suggestion! However, new customers also need to be considered. Our Hot & Savory line was suffering in terms of repeat rates, meaning many people try Hot & Savory Huel and simply never come back (more info here and here). As a business, this was a problem, some might refer to it as a leaky bucket.

Among our H&S flavors, grains-based flavors were even less popular than our pastas. This means these flavors were performing poorly in a product category that already needed some assistance.

We may need some more time to see if the changes to the grains-based recipes have had the desired impact, but a change was definitely in order. Our technical team is keeping track of the feedback from new and recurring customers alike (as long as you reach out to us directly at support@huel.com) and they’ll use this to continue improving!
