Hello everyone. I’m a new user and very new to the discourse. The reason for my becoming a Huel user is most unenviable: five days ago I had very comprehensive dental surgery, which will lead after several months to a new, mouthful of teeth supported by titanium alloy implants. I’m nearly 67 years old, still working full time in the strenuous occupation of UPS driver, so I’m not doing too badly, but my teeth were my Achilles heel.
I was introduced to Huel by a wonderful son, and I had two months to prepare for my surgery, and subscribing to Huel, and buying a wonderful Breville Super Q blender were part of the process.
I will agree with what I infer from others, that my experiences with drinking Huel, shaken in the shaker were not encouraging. But starting the day after my surgery, I started a very fun process of utilizing and experimenting with high quality ingredients, and most of my experiments have been triumphs! One or two — not so much. So to list some of the things I have tried, with the caveat, NOT ALL IN ONE SERVING, : almond mild, cashew milk, dairy milk, greek yogurt, avocado, banana, milled raw pistachio, milled raw almond, frozen fruit in the bag, ground coffee, truvia, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, split pea, mushroom, tomato soups, cottage cheese.
So far it is working quite well, and I am very grateful that I have Huel to get through this. I might even stay after I am back to normal!
I’m going to have to try some of these. I love the fronzen fruit blended in making it all icey like a smoothie.
Are you putting ground coffee straight into the blender? My method has been to brew a pot of extra-strong coffee and keep it in the fridge in an airtight container to add as “coffee shots.”
You might try cold brew too. Making a batch of cold brew gives you a concentrated coffee that you would normally add ice/water to before drinking. I find it goes nicely in Huel.
I hope you have a speedy recovery Thomas! We’re glad we can help in some small way.
ericb, you’re giving me a welcome “duh” moment! I think you are making a real good point with me–that brewing the coffee first, is probably a far superior method than putting the ground coffee directly into my blender. Thanks for the input.

If you’re in a rush, instant coffee works. I bought some instant coffee specifically for that purpose.
