Mac & Cheeze - New and improved?

Like you, I was experimenting with adding other H&S flavors to the Mac and was reasonably happy with half a scoop of Tomato Herb or Cajun. But I recently tried adding a couple teaspoons of a nice mustard, and for me it was the flavor the Mac was missing all along. It suddenly tasted more cheesy, sharp and savory and went from being one of my least favorite flavors to something I actually enjoy.

I love Huel and have been using it for 2 years now, but I am quite saddened by what you’ve done to the Mac & Cheese. It used to be my favorite, now I find it nearly inedible. I just threw away two bags of it.
I can’t stand it now. Thankfully, you have other options, but I find it bewildering that anyone would find this to be an improvement. It’s like eating tasteless, soggy cardboard. Yuck! Will never order it again. Please don’t mess with any of the other flavors.

Heya! If the tip of warming the water separately given by someone else hasn’t worked I wouldn’t suggest adjusting the time you’re microwaving down in increments of 15 seconds. It sounds like your microwave might have a higher wattage than the one used to come up with the prep guidelines which means it’s heating faster than anticiapated. This should help with the spillage as long as you also make sure the lid isn’t on too tight. Just let it set on top.

The old one used elbow pasta. So if you have that, then you have the old version.

Hi there! There is actually quite a simple way to know whether you’ve received the new version or the old version. If the best before date on the back of your bag is Before May 31st 2024 you have the older version. If your best before date is after June 1st 2024 you have the new version.

Thanks Kathryn, Mine is Sep 19, 2024; so, I guess it must be new after all. Why did you leave the version on the bag as 1.0?

A great question. Thanks for your patience while I looked into this for you! As the tweaks we’ve made to Mac & Cheeze are ones that we consider to be minor, we do not consider it a completely new version of the product which is why we have not updated the packaging.

Just popping in to say I finally got the new recipe and agree with everyone saying it’s not nearly as good as the old recipe. Sad to see this change.
