Is Huel Okay For Someone That Had Heart Valve Replacement Surgery?

Hello,

I have been using Huel for a few days now and so far I am happy with it. I would like to consider my husband for it as well but he had heart valve replacement surgery in April of this year. They used a mechanical valve. I don’t see ingredients in Huel that would be harmful. Can you offer any feedback to if he should use Huel?

Thank you,

Scott P.

Hey @Scott_S_Phillips! Huel will be fine for your husband’s surgery. :+1:

I can’t see any reason why Huel would be an issue with someone who had mechanical heart valve.

If he is started on Warfarin, he will need to make sure his vitamin K dietary intake is consistent. Huel isn’t high in vitamin K, so I don’t anticipate any problems. Although I suspect the doctor will use a DOAC instead of warfarin. Direct Oral Anti Coagulant. Like Eliquis or Pradaxa. These drugs don’t have the INR monitoring or vitamin K nonsense that warfarin users have to deal with.

One day warfarin prescriptions will be relegated to the history books. Good riddance to it.
