Huel Black Edition Powder for Disaster Preparation

With a one-year shelf life for unopened product and a 6-month shelf life for opened product, Huel Black Edition powder sounds like a great item for preppers to have in their long-term food storage pantry. Requiring nothing but clean, cold potable water to prepare, it’s faster and more convenient to prepare than meals that must be cooked. While not a complete substitute for actual food, substituting 1-2 meals per day with a Huel Black Edition powder would stretch your emergency food supply, conserve cooking fuel, and conserve potable water by reducing the amount of cookware needing to be cleaned. I’m ordering extra Huel in my monthly subscription until I’ve accumulated a 12-month rotating supply.

Especially true for those in hurricane-prone areas.

I wonder how long Huel powder would last if repackaged in a heat sealed mylar bag with an oxygen absorber. Probably up to 25 years. Maybe I’ll try it. For added measure, I’ll also freeze the sealed bag for 2 weeks to kill any insect eggs that may be survive processing (this is very common and not a result of unclean practices). Then I’ll open it in 5 years and see the effects.

That will be quite a follow-up post!
