Huel at work, best practices

Hello Huelers- My first batch arrives today, ordered it off of Amazon. My plan is to do one for breakfast and one for lunch. I can do my breakfast Huel with our Nutribullet and just take the shaker and a baggie of pre measured Huel every day. Or, I could pre-make my lunch Huel in the bullet and keep it in the fridge at work. How do you folks handle the Huel serving at work? Thanks!

I’ve tried both. Taking a container of Huel: i suggest a taller, skinnier container so it fits easily into the shaker (with water already in it). Wide-mouth containers make it easy to get the Huel into, but the transfer is more difficult. DO NOT transport your Huel in the shaker then add water - it will be too settled into itself and the shaker to mix properly. Seriously, this would be an interesting science program to see particle size, packing fractions, electrostatic charge, and other cool science stuff … for why you should always mix powder into water and never water into powder.

Pre-mix and reshake is probably a better experience because you’ll get a smoother blend and it’ll thicken while it rests. You can top up with more water to thin it out if necessary, but you’ll quickly dial-in on how much water to use at breakfast for a lunch portion.

My only downside with taking it to work was that I have to consume it or I feel like it’ll be wasted. I’m not always hungry enough, or might go out with friends. I really don’t like wasting food, so this is a big downside for me. If you know you are going to eat it then it might not be a problem for you.

Happy Hueling

I prefer the consistency when blended and having chilled for a few hours. Others like it fresh mixed/shaken. If you’re in the former camp just premix, throw it in a cooler bag with an ice pack, shake before drinking. I use a tall cooler bag so I can keep it upright/less chance of leaking. Enjoy!

I do 2 doses of Huel at work each day. I always blend mine. I like the smoother texture and I almost always add an ingredient or three to each dose. Keeps it interesting.

I actually prepare my GF’s and my Huel the night before, using ice cubes in place of some of the water so that it goes into the container already cold. They are stored in insulated thermos type of containers in the refrigerator. Ready to go when we each leave for work. I bring in an insulated lunch bag with a few cold packs.
