Calcium in Huel as a runner

I’ve been using Huel as a supplement to my diet in order to gain weight. Because this is so i eat many other foods including various dairy items. I notice Huel has 20% of your daily calcium. Does anyone know if this is mostly added in or is it naturally occurring in the other ingredients. I have heard calcium supplements can be tricky sometimes relative to heart health. Also as a long distance runner I rely on Huel to keep weight on. Is anyone here a runner as well and if so how has Huel been for you. How much are you relying on it? And if so how has it affected your running?

Hey there!

Welcome to the Huel Forum!

About half of the calcium comes from the food ingredients and half from the micronutrient blend. We have a handy chart that breaks this down. The calcium that is added is in the form of calcium carbonate.

I think the relationship between calcium and cardiovascular risk is unclear. A 2023 meta-analysis found no correlation.
