I was thinking of incorporating a tablespoon of Brain Octane Oil (caprylic acid triglycerides) (14g Saturated Fat) to my Huels…good idea? bad idea? Thanks for the input. Huel on, ya’ll…Cheers

For seizures?
“Caprylic acid is POSSIBLY SAFE when taken by mouth as part of a ketogenic diet or a diet high in medium chain triglycerides (MCTs) under the guidance of a physician. However, diets containing high amounts of caprylic acid might cause constipation, vomiting, stomach pain, low levels of calcium in the blood, drowsiness, or growth problems.”
Dunno. Other than a specific treatment of seizures, it seems like nothing more than a marketing gimmick by supplement companies. Seems like a very expensive way to increase the total amount of fat in your Huel. Doesn’t seem harmful but I doubt there’s real benefits to using this.
IMO, the best way to boost brain activity is by getting 6 to 8 hours of sleep daily, and possibly using coffee or tea for tye caffeine. I highly doubt any specific triglyceride is going to boost your brain performance.
Unless this is part of a ketogenic diet, designed to make your brain use ketone bodies for fuel, which is purported to improve cognitive function. But then, using Huel will likely prevent ketosis since it has a lot of oats.
