It feels like a lot has been happening in the Huel-iverse (sorry) lately, and tbh, it has. A while ago, we switched from large pouches to Meal Packs in the Hot and Savory line. We also delisted a few flavors that we felt weren’t up to the mark. Since then, the Meal Packs have been doing extremely well! This led us to think about what else we could do in this space.
You all have been very vocal about wanting the return of one very specific H&S. Thanks to our great Huel community, the one and only Mac n’ Cheeze Hot and Savory is making its triumphant return to the US and our European regions!!
This was teased a while back with a very clever (if I may so myself) post, but we wanted to officially let you know what was going on.
Additionally, you regularly made the very valid point of “why aren’t you putting noodles into meal packs?”. Tim mentioned a while back that we were thinking about it.
Well, we’re done thinking and we will be adding our Noodles into Meal Packs, as well as having them in Cups across all markets - you guys can decide which you prefer! Noodles that are currently in the Hot and Savory Pots (Cups) will be moving into Meal Packs.
Things of note:
- Timeline for both looks like late fall/early winter - but you will have Mac back and Noodles in Meal Packs by Christmas- Mac & Cheeze will be in Meal Pack form
- We will be including Mac & Cheeze in the Variety Box, as well as introducing a Noodle Mixed Box too - these will come a few weeks after the main launch we expect
- Mac will be same price as other pastas
- We’re working out the Noodle Meal Pack price, but it will likely sit somewhere between the Cups and the other Meal Packs
- For the first month, we are going to limit Mac & Cheeze availability to subscribers, variety box and singles. This is because we want to gather some initial data just to make sure we aren’t repeating previous performance issues. So long as there aren’t major red flags, we will roll out fully 1 month after.
Recipe Adjustment:
Good news for you die-hard fans of the M&C is that it remains pretty much the same. We removed tomatoes, which were controversial anyway, if I remember correctly. This comes with a small decrease in fiber by 1g. Some of the ingredients are from different suppliers and the result should be a slightly smoother texture of the sauce, which we think is a great positive, but overall, the product should be very close to what it was.
Again I want to reiterate that this is the result of everyone who was vocal about bringing back the Mac & Cheeze. You guys letting us know what you want really informs our decisions and it’s something that we value wholeheartedly. We’re excited to be able to bring this back and hope that you guys enjoy it as well.
