That thread discussed why Huel had to discontinue some of the underperforming flavors, both because they weren’t selling well enough and because they didn’t test well with new customers. That’s all understandable enough, but it was still very sad for those relatively few of us who had come to love those particular flavors and made a routine or lifestyle out of them.
Just an idea… I don’t suppose you could do small-batch, limited-run, “seasonal” or preorder-only, sales for these discontinued flavors and other special ones? Maybe they’d be limited to existing subscribers, and/or you’d have to preorder and pledge for them ahead of time (Kickstarter style), with a minimum of 4 boxes or whatever, and Huel only manufactures them if that flavors get enough pledges to fulfill X orders?
Maybe Mac and Cheese and Chickn Alfredo (RIP) didn’t do well enough to justify their continued production overall, but is there perhaps enough demand for smaller, more limited runs? I would certainly be happy to buy 9-12 boxes of Chickn Alfredos a few times a year. Would also love to try some of the exotic E.U. flavors (fiery chick’n, katsu curry, spaghetti carbonara, etc. all sound amazing).
Chik’n Alfredo could become the peated whisky of powdered foods… hated by most, but cherished and collected by a few deranged souls
You never know what the future holds! I’ve passed along the suggestion! We’re constantly experimenting with new flavors, as well, so maybe your favorite flavor is one that’s not released yet!
Are these the same as the workout tees that used to be available (the heathered ones)? I got a dozen or so when they were on sale and love them… they are my favorite workout shirts ever. But I think those were polyester, not cotton?
How is that everything I love from Huel gets discontinued… I must be more of an outlier than I imagined, lol.
There was an athletic/performance tee and also an everyday plain cotton tee. I’ll feed this back! Huelwear overall did not perform very well, but that’s not to say there’s no future for it.
Hopefully not everything you enjoy is gone (though your forecasting powers are impressive thus far! ). What are your favorite products at the moment?
Aren’t they, though? You don’t need market research. Just look at my order history
The spicy Asian stuff (gochujang and szechuan) is still wonderful, as are the OG chocolate and vanilla ready to drink bottles. We really like the Korean BBQ too.
Shared some with our Korean taekwondo teacher. He said it’s not really Korean, not really barbecue, but still pretty tasty! That’s high praise, coming the household that made the best japchae I’ve ever had
Glad to hear you like the Choc and Van Ready-to-Drink too, as these are foundational–likely to be sticking around for a good long time!!! The Asian-inspired dishes also seem to have a bright future
Glad that these new flavors are working for you, too! Luckily, Pasta Bolognese will be coming back. Cafe Latte was more of a name change to Coffee Caramel when the recipe was updated along with the other V3.1 flavors, but totally fair if the updated recipe wasn’t for you!
I wasn’t aware that coffee caramel is basically Cafe latte. I honestly cant remember if I tried the coffee caramel, my order history seems to be missing a couple of years worth of orders. What’s the difference between the 2?
Ramen in a cup and a single serve packet would be awesome!
You won’t be able to see your entire order history as we migrated subscription platforms last year, but we can still see everything on our end!
The updates from V3.0 to V3.1 included:
Oats Transformation: We switched to gluten-free oats, elevating both taste and texture
Additions: Faba bean protein and Guar joined the lineup, contributing to improved textural consistency
Streamlining for Sustainability: we removed kombucha, probiotics, lycopene, and acerola cherries to enhance sustainability and maintain affordability.
Reducing Carbon Footprint: By decreasing the presence of Brown Rice Protein, we successfully reduced our carbon footprint by an impressive 16%
There were also improvements to the flavor, such as Belgian chocolate in the Chocolate v3.1 and vanilla bean in the new Vanilla v3.1. So you may notice a taste difference, but this would not be limited to the Coffee Caramel. The Coffee Caramel in particular has more of a sweeter coffee flavor than the Caffe Latte.
I would say charge a bit more, but your prices are already not cheap, but if you had to I am sure it would make people happy, just look at all the responses to the december thread…
I’ll pass along this suggestion! And we definitely take into account the feedback here on the forum! However, one thing to note is that there is a huge non-vocal majority that aren’t here on the forum, who have tried Hot & Savoury Huel and simply never come back. As a business, this is a problem, some might refer to it as a leaky bucket.
I’ll also say the Mac & Cheese was my favorite of all the flavors. A small batch run that required a pre-order or a minimum total order to run could have it make sense to do.
I tried to Hurl Black and let’s just say it had some side effects, . So I’ll likely never try that product again.
Also hoping for pouches of the noodle (Korean BBQ, Szechuan & Gochujabg). That would be awesome!
Glad to hear you enjoyed the Mac & Cheeze, and sorry for the disappointment surrounding the delisting! I’ve passed this suggestion along for a small or limited-batch run.
So sorry to hear this! We recommend building up slowly with this product due to the high fiber content. It’s good to start with just one scoop (or even a half scoop) for the first several days and build up as tolerated. You’ll also want to make sure you’re getting plenty of water!
More uniformity between the H&S Cup and Meal Pack product lines is definitely something we’ve considered! I’ll pass this along!
