Ready-to-drink RANCID

I opened a rtd chocolate today, from my latest batch I ordered less than a month ago, and it was refrigerated the entire time- it was pressurized and smelled absolutely disgusting. It overflowed like a shaken up soda, and made the entire kitchen smell gross. Opened another one, same story. I’m hoping this is totally isolated, but I’m worried as to what may have caused it. Seems bacteria related. Anyone have any similar experiences?
