I need this. Wish me luck!

Okay, as for flavors specifically, The chocolate flavor is a fail so far, it’s basically like U/U, except it has sweetener I can’t even taste.

Berry, is okay.

Vanilla is decent, probably my favorite of the sweetened bunch.

U/U is the winner in my mind. All of the flavored Huel tastes pretty bland. Not an issue, but not a benefit exactly.

I like the choc mint flavor boost, but i feel you’ve got to use more than directed. I mean, you don’t have to, but it tastes kinda bland like the huel if you don’t.

A big winner, (with way too many calories) is adding 2 tbs pb powder, 2 tbs choc protein powder, and milk. milk i’d say like 1/3 - 2/3 cup per scoop huel. almond milk would probably be better due to the kcal. top off with water, & add other stuff too if desired. I found if i used 1 huel scoop, with the protein & pb, & a little milk, it came out to about 400 kcal (but only 1 scoop huel). Not sure if it’s worth it, but it tastes good! The milk & protein powder has sugars, so it helps sweeten the huel :yum: another benefit of the milk if it adds fat, which the pb powder lacks. I haven’t tried adding coconut yet, but it’ll likely require a blender, which i’ve avoided so far.

Hope my posts weren’t TOO wordy! Good Luck!

LOve your story and I look forward to seeing your journey. If you don’t mind I’d like to offer a tip for when starting huel, have plenty of water at the ready in case you get peckish, it’s been my saviour and I’ve managed not to snack 3 days straight since starting this on Monday. Good luck and yes you can do it xx

uPDATE:

Just weighed myself, & according to the scale i’ve lost about 10+ lbs. I’m down to around 208.5 (morning of July 4th) and my energy levels have been borderline terrible. I’m worried about the health side effects of losing weight as fast as I am, due to the lack of energy & possible lack of nutrients, etc. My hunger seems to mostly be affected by my mind, as when I tell myself i’m not eating or not hungry, I usually forget that I am (though i know i’m hungry when I feel borderline non-functional AKA weak / tired / no energy, lethargic?).

I usually eat every 4-6 hrs unless i’m asleep at the time, in which case I usually eat within an hour of waking up, though sometimes longer if i ate right before I slept, which I try to avoid doing. sometimes I realize I didn’t eat enough, so i’ll snack after awhile, with about 100-250 calories, usually nuts or something similar. sometimes ill eat a little cheese and maybe a cracker or two. maybe a couple ounces of milk.

I’ve got family coming over today for the 4th (&5th), so i’m hoping not to set back my weight more than 2-3 days  but if i’m fortunate, maybe i’ll be able to maintain or maintain loss, we’ll see. Right now losing weigh is more important than having fun, so hopefully I’ll keep that in mind, while still enjoying myself.

I lost 10 lbs twice in the past, largely due to avoiding drinking calories, (such as milk, or soda pop etc.). (When i’d drink milk, i’d drink around 400+ calories of it, with a 400-600+ calorie meal >.<)
Also Largely due to eating low carb higher fat & protein.

I’ve been adding about 2 Tbs half & half, & 4 tbs (1/4 cup) milk often times to my huel, & protein powder. I’ve also added unsweetened coconut (roughly 2-4 tbs), that i got from WinCo Bulk. It’s a little big / pulpy, but fine enough, for me to use in a shaker bottle.

I’ve also been eating some steak (about palm size or smaller) & veggies, and carbs like toast. Oh & when I eat red potatoes, i eat 1 small one max (due to carbs).

Would love to hear how you’re doing, @brees531
Oh, & Happy 4th of July!

The biggest thing for me to get the right taste was to add a serving of chocolate malt flavored whey protein to my 50/50 chocolate/vanilla meal. It adds 117 calories and 24g of protein, which helps keep my macros balanced and the the taste is really good. Wish I had found this at the beginning of my journey (218lbs 28%bf) instead of at the end (161lbs 13%bf)!

What a clever idea with your car keys next to the bottle!! I have twice mixed an “evening meal” of Huel at work, and twice left it in the fridge at work… :woman_facepalming: I’ll try your method next time.

Best of luck, it sounds like you’ve got a really S.M.A.R.T. goal ahead of you, and I hope we get to at least see some pictures from your upcoming performance. Go go go, and happy fourth of July!

July 19th, Down to 207.5 lbs
Due to a couple vacations, my weight has been fluctuating,
but am happy that I still managed to be mindful enough to lose 1 pound over the last 15 days!
