Lazy Programmer/Web Developer. I’ve always struggled with weight, not really because I lack self control, but rather am too lazy to cook/make meals. I have been eating 95% Huel for about 5 months now, and am down 50 pounds. update: by the 10 month point i had lost 80 pounds and have been maintaining that loss, still having Huel for 2 meals a day, slowly adding other vitamin packed foods in as well. vite ramen is amazing with a little msg and ichimi togarashi added in.

I am prone to going on several months up to a year of eating the same thing every day, to the point that I am gagging on things as I eat them, but force them down for nutritional purposes. I do this because its the easiest way for me to keep track of my calories.

Having had Huel for practically all of my nutrition lately, I am perpetually suprised by how easy it still is to consume; I have never gagged on Huel. While this sounds like a less-than-stellar recommendation, remember I eat only Huel for 95% (at least) of my sustinance. The only exceptions I make are if I am invited out to dinner or lunch, which has happened maybe 6 times since I started.

The vanilla flavor is mild at best to me, which is pretty brilliant. The less flavor, the less flavor to get on your nerves. Plus, my body has begun to associate the stuff with the balanced nutrition it provides, so I often find myself looking forward to my Huel meals.

For several months prior to starting Huel I had delivery food every day. I would have McDonalds, meat covered pizza, Italian food, any food really. I would shop for food only when I was near being broke, and even then got easy-to-eat foods like Goldfish crackers, ice cream, bread rolls, chips, etc. I was spending close to $1,000 a month just to avoid preparing food.

I am now saving money for the first time in over a decade. I imagine at some point I will break down and binge for a while, but I seriously doubt that I will discontinue consuming Huel for more than a few weeks for the foreseeable future. update 10/28/2019: I don’t think I’ve gone five consecutive days without having Huel since I started that diet.
